The contact timeline

Where a contact's history across every module shows up.

Every contact's detail page has two places that summarize its history — "The thread" and Activity — described in full on The unified contact record. This page covers what specifically shows up in each, from a CRM angle.

What lands on Activity

Anything that happens to a contact is recorded as an activity entry, in chronological order, including everything CRM-related:

  • Deal created
  • Deal stage changed
  • Task created / task completed
  • Note added
  • Tag added / removed

Alongside the CRM entries, the same feed also shows form submissions and email activity (sent, opened, clicked, subscribed, unsubscribed) — so a deal's context (what form brought this contact in, whether they've opened your last campaign) is visible without switching pages.

"The thread"

The smaller panel above Activity shows just three nodes — Forms, Newsletter, CRM — each either untouched, touched, or active (the most recently touched module for this contact). It's a quick visual answer to "has this contact reached the CRM yet," without reading the full activity list.

A contact's CRM node shows as touched once it has a DEAL_CREATED or DEAL_STAGE_CHANGED activity — in practice, as soon as any deal exists for that contact in any pipeline.
